I believe lighting to be vital when bringing a space to life and it is important the lighting works with the decor and accentuates the features of a room. I can create mood boards to help you imagine the space and the design concept. I have lighting suppliers and contacts from all over the world and have a wealth of knowledge about the available products including LEDs and how they work. I take careful consideration when choosing the lighting for a job making sure the style and quality of the fittings are perfect. I look for beautiful light fittings that are stylish and practical.
Once the style has been agreed on I can then over lay a lighting design onto an architects plans, positioning the lighting and making sure the balance of light in a space is correct. Sometimes you can over light a space so less can sometimes be more. I take time to consider all the aspects of the space and ensure the lighting is correctly positioned thus creating the perfect atmosphere whilst working within the design parameters of the brief and delivering a design which often exceeds the client’s expectations.
Finally, should the design require it, I will work out the wiring for the lighting. Breaking down the lighting into circuits and helping to choose the best place to switch and control everything. This will all be shown on the design and everything will be colour coded and a key will indicate the chosen light fittings. I can also incorporate home automation into a lighting design allowing for control of your lighting through a smart phone app. This also allows for mood control units to be used so scenes for different light levels can be set and easily controlled. My goal when bringing any lighting design together is to offer the client a user friendly and affordable lighting design. From concept to design I will communicate with you making sure you are happy with every detail of the design.
The finished design and lighting plan will give your chosen contractor an easy to follow schematic which can be used for the first and second fix of the project.
